General Information
This applicationn is an AndroidTM application that was created for business men and women to ease the tracking of business related items such as expenses, mileage, time, and payments for jobs as well as trips. It has been tailored to allow easy entry of these items throughout the period of the job or trip. Once a job or trip is complete, the application allows the data to be viewed and exported in a variety of ways both as PDF reports and CSV exports. These reports and exports can then be viewed on the device or emailed to whoever needs them. Additionally, the CSV export is useful for importing into other systems such as QuickBooksTM or QuickenTM.
The purpose of this document is to describe the functionality of your application so that all features can be put to use.
Throughout this document, a few terms will be used that a person should be familiar with:
Touch or Select - Most features within the application are activated by briefly touching the screen. For example, to add expenses, mileage, time or payments to a Job on the main screen, one would “Touch” the job that he/she would like to work with. Depending on the area that is touched, if the user touches the area too long, the operator will have effectively performed a “Long Touch” operation, which will drive different logic within the application. Items within the screen can also be touched or selected to activate functionality within the application. For example, one would “touch” the “Add” button on the main screen of the application to add a new Job.
Long Touch - When lists of data are present within the application, various options can be accessed by performing a “Long Touch” on the row of data. The “Long Touch” events are activated by pressing on a particular area of the screen, and continuing to apply the touch until a menu is raised on the screen. Generally, the menu will be displayed within one second. Once the menu is displayed, normal “Touch” actions will be used to execute the functionality of the menu.
Different actions are available from different screens within theWhen screen space is available at the top of the screen, some actions will display as icons. Otherwise, actions will only be available by selecting the device menu button. In the upper left hand corner of each of the screens is the application icon. Selecting this icon will cause the application to navigate to the parent level of the application. The following list summarizes all common actions that you might find throughout the application:
Add - This action is used throughout the application to create new items. For example, on the main screen of the application, this action initiates the creation of a new job.
Cancel - This action is used to cancel any changes that you have made to a selection.
Delete – The delete action is used to delete items that are selected within the screen. Once the action is selected, the user is prompted with a question informing them of the impact of the decision with a question as to whether or not to continue.
Exit – Selecting this option will shut down the application.
Help – Selecting this option will display a number of options to help the user. More details about this functionality can be found below.
Save - This action saves the data that was entered on the screen. Typically, the screen will close once the save occurs. Also note that selecting the device back button will result in a save of any data changes.
Settings – This action brings up a large selection of options that can be used to tailor the application to work best for you, the user. More details about the options that are available can be found later within this document.
Upgrade To Pro – This option allows a user of the Trial version to upgrade to the PRO version of the application via Google PlayTM. Once upgraded, the application will continue to be fully functional, but will no longer be limited to a 30 day trial period.
